Common Hoopoe

Upupa epops
Common Upupidae 25–29 cm Low risk

Unmistakable, with a pinkish-cinnamon body, boldly barred black-and-white wings and a fan-like crest it raises when alarmed. Its soft, far-carrying "oop-oop-oop" call gives the bird its name.
